Function Notation Maze Activity for Evaluating Functions in Algebra I

$3.50

Looking for a highly engaging Function Notation activity for your 9th Grade Algebra I students? This self-checking function notation maze game is unlike anything your students have seen before and includes an animated story with alternate endings!

In this Adventurous Joe activity, Joe left his snow boots outside and they were buried in a snow blizzard. Students must correctly perform the operations on function notations to help Joe get his boots so he can fish without getting frostbite!

Problem types include: Evaluating functions in function notation to determine the output (y) given the input (x), composition of functions (ex. "f(g(4))"), and comparing values of functions.

❤️Why Students & Teachers LOVE this Resource❤️

  • Self-Checking. If students answer the questions correctly, Joe makes it out of his sticky situation. If they make a wrong turn, his adventure turns sour!
  • Engaging. The ONLY math product on TpT (that I can find) with an animated video story to accompany the activity.
  • No Prep. Just print & go!
  • Versatile. Choose to watch the videos as a class, or use the QR codes & have students work independently.
