Have your students make a banner in this Pi Day math activity! This resource is perfect for middle school, but can be used for grades 5 & up! Students will get to string the first 30 (or more!) digits of Pi around the classroom. Each pennant contains a math prompt to answer, one digit of pi, and a unique background to color.

Please see the pictures above for examples and details! If you have more than 30 students, simply print out extra copies of the numbers needed and you can carry pi out to more decimal places! This activity is suitable for grades 5-12, or can simply be used as a classroom decoration!

What a fun idea! I love that we can keep reviewing the digits of pi and adding to them. We are trying to see if we can get all the way down the hall with our digits. I also liked how this activity got the students thinking about real life application of math in their lives and nature. - Kristin K.
