This Fall Math Mystery makes a wonderful Thanksgiving math activity for 6th - 9th grade classrooms*! This activity includes digital & printable versions! Students must work together to solve problems involving one-step equations, operations with decimals, multi-step word problems, unit rate conversions, and proportions to figure out who among them is a thief!

Upon entering the classroom, students are handed unique suspect cards, and assume the identity of Fall Festival patrons. Their lovely Autumn break outing is interrupted when a when a thief, dressed as a scarecrow robs a group of people in the hay maze. The students must solve a series of math problems to uncover the suspect's identity and figure out who among them is the thief!

This activity is a perfect team-building activity for Thanksgiving/Fall Break. No Holidays are mentioned (just Fall break), so this activity can be used at any point during the Fall.

The digital version of this activity is created in Google Slides and includes a full set of instructions for students and teachers.
